Prepare the pipeline:

As for contact standards, the threaded portion of the connection will follow standard pipe thread specifications. ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 is the universal standard for pipe threads in the United States, but standards may vary by region.
For grooved sections, various standards can be applied depending on the industry and application. ANSI/NFPA 53 and ISO 6182 are examples of standards covering grooved end fittings for fire service.
