External thread
External thread: It is the raised part of the thread on the outer surface of the malleable iron pipe fittings, usually in the shape of a raised spiral. This thread type is commonly found on bolts, screws and other accessories. Its function is to connect to a part or nut with corresponding internal threads.
Internal Thread
Internal thread: is the grooved portion of the thread on the internal surface of an object, usually a spiral-shaped groove. The purpose of internal threads is to allow it to connect to externally threaded parts. Internal threads are commonly found in holes in nuts, pipe fittings, or other parts.
These two thread types are usually matched to each other, one is the internal thread and the other is the external thread, and they work together to form a strong connection. For example, a bolt (external thread) can be connected by a nut (internal thread) to form a solid assembly.
