These fittings are Mech tee and mech cross.A mechanical tee is a type of pipe fittings used to replace full-flow castings. The slotted mechanical tee is made of ductile iron and is divided into two halves: one for the outlet and the other for the strap. At the location of the branch or equipment, drill a hole in the pipe or cut an oversized hole. The mechanical tee assembly is assembled around the pipe, positioning the collar inside the hole and enclosing a rubber gasket designed to fit a specific piping system. By fixing the bolts, the branch becomes more secure. Mechanical tees are used to connect pipes directly to the system.
